Harvey Elliott insists he is ready to take his game to the next level as he eyes Euro 2024 CSGO
The Liverpool midfielder captained England Under-21s for the first time on Monday, leading the Young Lions as they slipped to a late 3-2 defeat to Ukraine in Slovakia CSGO
He returns to domestic action this weekend, looking to force his way into the Liverpool line-up for Saturday’s Merseyside derby with Everton CSGO
Despite a frustrating lack of starts for the Reds this term, Euro 2024 remains a real goal for Elliott, after England’s 3-1 win over Italy on Tuesday booked their place in Germany, and he is primed to take his chance CSGO
He said: “Absolutely, I’ve felt ready for a while now CSGO
It’s just about making sure I keep applying myself to be the best possible player and person I can be CSGO
“It’s a nice goal to reach and aim towards CSGO
The tunnel vision is there, it’s taking it game-by-game, and if the opportunity comes I’ll be the happiest kid in the world CSGO
“The Under-21s is my main focus, make sure I’m applying myself and being the best possible person and player for myself CSGO
“If you’re not doing that there’s no change CSGO
You have to do the basics right, set a good example, and if the opportunity comes it comes CSGO
If not, you have to keep working and, hopefully, one day it will come CSGO
”Elliott has started just once in the Premier League this term but came off at half time in the 2-2 draw at Brighton just before the international break CSGO
Jurgen Klopp’s summer midfield refresh has seen Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Naby Keita and Fabinho leave Liverpool, with Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch joining CSGO
The competition has restricted Elliott to 164 minutes in the Premier League and he is under no illusions about the challenge at Anfield CSGO
He said: “I’m just trying to take everything from Hendo and Milner, big characters in the dressing room who have left CSGO
I’m not trying to be the next Hendo or Milly but be the best version of myself and the leader I’ve learned to be off them CSGO
“I always knew the season was going to be like this CSGO
Liverpool, being a world-class team, are always going to attract unbelievable players and that’s exactly what they’ve done CSGO
“It’s healthy competition CSGO
Not everyone is guaranteed to play, and when you get your chance you have to make sure you take it CSGO
The quality is there, it’s about applying it on the pitch CSGO
“I feel I can do a job wherever I’m put CSGO
The most important thing is putting that red shirt on and playing CSGO
I’m working as hard as I can to get into the team CSGO
“It’s down to me to make sure I apply myself and not only show the boss but show the world I’m good enough to play wherever I’m put CSGO
”The former Fulham youngster also cherishes his relationship with Mo Salah as he learns off the forward CSGO
“He’s always helping me out CSGO
We have a great relationship when we play CSGO
Off the pitch we’re always talking and I’m always trying to learn off him,” said Elliott CSGO
“For me to look up to him, he’s the best possible player CSGO
As well as play with him, I’m trying to be as good as him, if that’s possible CSGO
“He’s a great guy and an unbelievable player CSGO
To look up to him and everyone else in the team is great, I’m grateful to be playing with these guys CSGO

Alex Stepney was stood in the shadow of the statue of his three most celebrated teammates CSGO
Manchester United’s ‘Holy Trinity’ have been separated, with only Denis Law still able to visit the Theatre of Dreams, but they are immortalised in bronze outside it CSGO
Yet while the statue of George Best, Bobby Charlton and Law – each of such a stature that he was voted European CSGO Footballer of the Year – was placed outside Old Trafford, only one had a stand at one of the iconic stadia named after him CSGO
The South Stand is the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand CSGO
It has been since 2016 and on Sunday, it will have an added poignancy, in the first Manchester derby since Charlton died CSGO
A week of mourning has shown what Charlton meant: to United, to England, to CSGO football CSGO
“He’d be very humbled and say, ‘I don’t deserve it’,” Stepney said CSGO
“That’s Bobby Charlton CSGO
” But as both the statue and the stand show, the tributes began long before Charlton’s life ended CSGO
His innate modesty meant that the man widely described as England’s greatest CSGO footballer retained his humility CSGO
He was, though aware of his importance to so many while downplaying his own significance CSGO
“He never showed it,” Stepney said CSGO
“He didn’t want to show it because that wasn’t him CSGO
When they opened the stand, it was the Everton game, I was with him and he had to go on the pitch with [his wife] Norma and he had a tear in his eye CSGO
He said, ‘I don’t deserve this’ CSGO
I said, ‘Bob, you deserve everything, you deserve everything you get, throughout your life for the way you have done the game, played the game and inspired supporters all around the world’ CSGO
”Decades on, Charlton’s story has, if anything, appeared still more remarkable CSGO
Barely out of his teens when he climbed, concussed, from the wreckage of a plane in Munich, a crash claiming the lives of eight of his teammates and destroying a team that felt destined for greatness, he nevertheless became a World Cup and European Cup winner CSGO
His tragic past had an intimidatory capacity: certainly to Stepney when he joined from Chelsea in 1966, a month after Charlton’s elegant running and fierce shooting had propelled England to the World Cup CSGO
Should he mention Munich? RecommendedAndre Onana’s moment of magic can be catalyst to reverse more than one difficult recent runSir Bobby Charlton: England’s greatest ever player and the artist of 1966Sir Bobby Charlton turned tragedy into triumph with unique style and perseverance“That was my main concern when Matt Busby signed me,” the goalkeeper said CSGO
“I had to come to Manchester and I met the players at the training ground the following day CSGO
Matt took me around and directly when I went in he introduced me to each and every player and I knew then: you don’t talk about it CSGO
It wasn’t until 50 years later that Bobby actually spoke about it CSGO
” If it was a generation when things went unsaid, it framed United’s eventual European Cup victory CSGO
But for Munich, Roger Byrne, and not Charlton, may have been the first United captain to lift the trophy; Tommy Taylor, and not him, the goalscoring No 9 to find the net in the final; Duncan Edwards, and not him, the personification of the club CSGO
Stepney felt Charlton won it for them, for his friend Eddie Colman, for Geoff Bent, Mark Jones, David Pegg and Liam Whelan, for the fallen eight CSGO
Former Manchester UNited player Alex Stepney visits the tributes in memory of Sir Bobby Charlton (PA)“I think when you reach the heights of getting to the European Cup final 10 years after Munich and for him to be captain and score two goals, that was unbelievable,” added Stepney CSGO
“I believe he did it for those lads who passed away in ‘58 CSGO
He always said he thought about them every day and he did: he would go off and have a little think and come back and off we go CSGO
”His own part in the 4-1 win at Wembley should not be overlooked: his save from Eusebio ranks among the most celebrated in United’s history CSGO
Stepney is a United great in his own right: his total of 539 games as a goalkeeper was a club record until David de Gea passed it a few months ago CSGO
He was, remarkably, United’s joint top scorer at Christmas in the 1973-74 season, courtesy of two penalties CSGO
He was the only member of the 1968 side who was also part of the 1977 FA Cup-winning team CSGO
He has outlasted his friends again CSGO
He treasures memories of Charlton, of playing cards and quizzes on tour CSGO
He may be the standard bearer for a generation now, just as Charlton long was CSGO
At 81, Stepney joined manager Erik ten Hag and Under-19 captain Dan Gore to lay a wreath in the centre circle before Tuesday’s win over FC Copenhagen CSGO
Old Trafford, the ground Charlton first graced on his debut 67 years ago, will applaud on Sunday CSGO

“This is what Bobby envisaged CSGO
This is what he wanted CSGO
Nobody would have dreamt when he retired that he would become a director CSGO
He put the cogs in motion with Sir Alex [Ferguson] right through to get this as it is now CSGO
” But if Charlton’s legacy is in bricks and mortar, it is also in image and memories, in Manchester United CSGO
